Cards

We would love to hear your feedback

2005

In our inaugural card, we kept it pretty simple.  Just throw some butt checks on there, do a terrible photoshop job and call it good.  I am sure this surprised the recipients and very few put it on their fridge.

2006

Gotta come clean, I found a version of the nativity joke online and worked it into our engagement news.  2006 was a busy year for us, and that is why this card wasn't great.

2007

We brought our Santa hats with us to Mexico in May to get this picture.  We didn't anticipate catching Santa vacationing as well.  We had two versions this year, a naughty and nice version.  We are sharing the naughty one because it is so much more fun.

2008

On display in 2008 was our amazing artistic capabilities and our new dog.  That year, Katy surprised Quinn with a 'purebred shitzu' from Craigslist that amazingly sheded everywhere.  Times were tough in 2008 so we went with a postcard to save on printing costs and postage.  However, that potential cost savings was offset by Katy's new addiction to online shopping.

2009

We made a few people mad with this one.  We weren't pregnant, just expecting lots of fun things in 2010.  I really like the Brett Farve reference and the Adam Lambert joke.  Katy and I are still deeply in love... with Captain Morgan.

2010

The idea from this card came from our favorite section of the Sports Illustrated magazine.  At this point in our lives we were trying to figure out if we wanted/needed kids.  We really enjoyed our freedom.  That was about to come crashing down. I really wish I would have purchased the Raygun "Waterloo - you may have seen us on Cops" t-shirt.

2011

This is one of my favorites.  The shirt coming off joke still makes me laugh.  I enjoy the word play on the morning tail reference with tailgating and cleaning diapers.  A lot changes when you have a kid, mostly for the better.  One thing is for sure, you have much more material for a holiday card!

2012

Kyla was so excited for Christmas she didn't know what to do, just like Quinn in a threesome.  We really enjoyed our first Christmas with a kid.  Kyla knew that she loved Christmas when she opened her first present: a Suzie Talks a Lot doll and she followed her lead.

2013

The idea of having a kid was wearing off on us, and we were getting tired of the responsibility.  Kidding, 2013 was a tough year for us.  We lost a child 5 months into what appeared to be a normal pregnancy.  Kyla finally earned her keep and helped us get through the tough times.  It is hard to be sad when she smiles at you.

2014

Lots of adult males beating things in this card.  Not in that way, you have a dirty dirty mind.  I am talking beating wives and kids, which is way better than what you were thinking.  Katy survived her impression of a terrible bull fighter but still to this day attends multiple physical therapy's and chiropractors each week.  I am beginning to wonder if those are code words for her boyfriends.

2015

This may have been the prime cute years for all of us.  It went downhill from here worse than the sequel to Major League. This one makes me smile because I like wordplay and raps.  Favorite joke of this year is "Quinn likes to hit that, but not like Chris Breezy" and rhyming it with "made it look easy".  I also loved "our casino had a hotel in it".  Shot out to Jim Harbaugh's khakis.

2016

This was not our best effort in 2016.  Give us a break, we were figuring out how to handle two kids.  We prefer a zone, and now we had to play man to man and we all know how slow Katy is.  We were getting crushed and had no time for thoughts other than who needs fed and which episode of Paw Patrol are we on.

2017

We were back on our game in 2017.  A couple good jokes that still ring true today: Alexa is the best listener in our house and religion is still like your golf game, fantasy football team, and recipes... no one cares.  The kids are really cute and still like each other at this point, something I wish were still true.

2018

This is our first and last singing holiday card, for good reason.

Who else do you know that sends a holiday card with a picture of a random family on it?  I feel like we are the only ones dumb enough to try it. I love Quinn's response to his favorite memory of 2019, blacking out.

2021 - front of card.png

The random family 2019 card worked out great with Covid shutting everything down in 2020.  We hadn't seen anyone in about a year, so the timing of going from random family to our real picture worked.  I got a few 'you let yourself go a little Quinn' comments, true story.  Kobe blaming Maggie for his bad decisions, like peeing in the yard and chewing toilet paper cracked me up. Over / Under is set at 38 on how many takes this picture took before we got close enough to right?  I was sore afterwards.

The premise of this makes me giggle like a school girl.  We are so flawed and shorter.  We are still working on our acting skills, as you can see in our youtube short.  We had a blast doing this with the kids. My favorite joke might be 'A loud, man-like, voice is heard from off stage' and the next line is Katy's.

The cover was made using fiverr.com and a free lance artist.  We thought it turned out great.  We got back into youtube videos again, which was a mistake.  Like I tell my kids, the internet is FOREVER and now everyone will know how big of idiots we are forever.  So cringe.

The back in the day photos on the front make this card.  Katy = Chunk from Goonies.  I really like the Barbie joke on this one, but my favorite is the play on the ghyat word that apparently means booty.  'back in the day a yhaht was a big ass boat, now it's just a big ass'.

After fighting with the wife about how dirty we are allowed to be in a holiday card, I gave up and gave into her idea about what each of us liked most in the past year.  I did manage to print off and mail a few people the 'naughty' version of the card that was vetoed by Katy.  Turns out, she was right again.  It was way over the line.
